The Friendship Firehouse Museum had many old artifacts used in history and how technology has come a long way to assist firefighters.

Fun place to visit to learn about early days firefighting and equipment in Alexandria. Docents are very good at explaining the various equipment on display.

The Friendship Firehouse Museum is simply one of the classiest dining establishments in Old Town, Alexandria! It is quite a coincidence that my wife and I will be dining there this evening!

A lot of history this particular Friendship company has. This small bldg was converted to small museum on 2 floors. You don’t need more than 15 minutes for it but you can spend much more time if you want to read all displays.
Bring cash or credit cards for gifts. The gift shop is very small but you could definitely find a nice gift here for your family or friends.

Being a fireman of course I had to visit this place. Aside from the old hand pumper and hose cart this place is very uneventful. It is not even an old fire station feel, all modern and drywalled and such. Its not something I would make a must see. They claim George Washington was a founder....not sure how to validate this but still does not make this place any more interesting. I was bored actually. UGH

The Friendship Firehouse Museum documents the history of a fire company that dates back to the 18th Century. Tradition has it that George Washington was a founder of the company, though this claim is dubious.

The Museum is free, but there's not a whole lot to see. The first floor has hand-operated 18th and 19th Century fire trucks and a hose wagon. The second floor has the fire company's meeting room and some memorabilia - historic photos and letters to the Company signed by famous people.

It takes a half hour at most to see everything here.

This is a little out of the way museum that you should visit. It is free (donation accepted) that has a lot of history about the fire department.

I stumbled on this little gem by accident. An authentic old Firehouse!

This is a great, though small, museum. The fire apparatus give some insight into how challenging it would have been to fight even a small fire. I think the size of the museum allows one to connect more personally to the history of Friendship Firehouse, and really appreciate the dedication of the fellows who served.

The second floor is not to be missed! I was very surprised by it. I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't what we found.

Only open on Sat. & Sundays now, and the suggested donation fee is only $2. pp.
The museum is down a side street off of King, and I nearly missed it and only went to have a look at the small hanging sign out of random curiosity. I am glad that I did!

Tour guide very well informed, old fire trucks most unique and even upstairs the uniforms shout bravery! Would recommend for all ages as the time is neither lengthy nor boring.

Worth a visit for the old fire apparatus. The company started in 1774 & this firehouse opened in 1855. Only open 1-4 PM on Saturday & Sunday.
