This museum is the product of digs and excavations in historic Olde Towne Alexandria, VA. The staff is very experienced and and can tell you about many of the relics found during the excavations. This is a fun museum. The folks seem like, well, archeologists. They are down to earth and like telling you about what they have found in Alexandria. They have lots of students and volunteers who work there. They also welcome in kid groups for hands on demos. This is a nice place.

I explored the various exhibits of finds from Alexandria digs. There are activities for kids that looked fun and I appreciated that the town has made an good effort to preserve historical artifacts and share them with the public.

Located on the third floor of the Torpedo Art Factory, this museum is definitely worth a stop. Not very large, but does a good job showing the different discoveries that have been made in the town of Alexandria. Some of the displays are interactive and very kid friendly. Staff is wonderful as well and more than helpful.

Went once looking for something historical, had to go back when a local told me '3rd floor' [guy at Carlyle House actually]. It's small, but it's active and has good displays. It is 'current'. Meaning these are things they are discovering recently. There is an area with broken plates to see if you can put it together. [hint, not all... More

Up on the third floor of the Torpedo Factory Art Center is a charming little museum focusing on the archaeology of Alexandria, Virginia. Featuring imaginative displays, this museum will enlighten you about little known aspects of early life in this city. The docents are very knowledgeable and well informed. There are several displays guaranteed to grab the attention of younger... More

The Alexandria Archaeology Museum is a one-room museum on the third floor of the Torpedo Factory in Old Town. The Museum has exhibits with artifacts excavated from Alexandria dating from early Native Americans to decades ago, with a focus on Colonial and Civil War-era artifacts. The artifacts themselves are not that impressive - a lot of pottery shards, metal tools,... More

Located on the 3rd floor of the Torpedo Art Factory. It's really a small exhibit, bit of a stretch to call it a museum. It does have some interesting artifacts from the Civil War era.

Alexandria has been settled for thousands of years, and its archeological history is well documented in this small museum on the top floor of the Torpedo Factory art gallery near the waterfront at the end of King St. It's worth a few minutes up to a half hour, and I believe you will be pleasantly surprised at what you will... Tucked up on the 3rd floor of the city's Torpedoe Factory on the waterfront, those who love history will be rewarded by the numerous exhibits covering local finds from way before the arrival of the Europeans who set up the Old Dominion. There was a small temporary exhibit about French patriot Lafayette whose warship L'Hermione, actually its full size replica,... More
