Good place to bird watch, jog, hike and walk the dog on different trails, some wood planked. It's a swamp so depending on the day, mosquitos and bugs will be there so plan ahead.

We live within walking distance of Huntley Meadows and often walk through the park. It's a wetlands with an information center and several stops with interpretive signage. We enjoy it there- we've gone with the kids and the dogs (although pets are not allowed on the boardwalks) - and it's generally shaded and not too covered in mosquitos. The average... More

I just love taking my toddler here. The boardwalk over the restored marshes is both fun and peaceful. So much wildlife to scope out. My daughter can't get enough of the lookout tower (the castle). The nature center is a lot of fun too

Fantastic. Elevated boardwalk in wetlands, almost like going to the everglades, minus the alligators

This is an amazing place to visit. be sure to grab a map of the park before proceeding. I took my 90 year old father who uses a rollator. He loves to see wetlands and wildlife. The walk to the boardwalk over the wetlands was farther than I remembered. My father ended up needing to take several rests before we... More

I love to photograph wildlife. This a great area to see birds, turtles, beavers, and other wildlife. I highly recommend this park if you are in the Northern VA area. This is a short drive from DC. There is a beautiful boardwalk in the wetlands part of the park. This is a great park to relax and hear the sounds... More

A well maintained, easy, wooded trail along with a boardwalk through the wetlands makes this park out to be a great time, no matter the weather and no matter the age. The visitor center (when open) is a pleasant addition to the experience, with bathrooms and a nice reception area.

I live just a mile from Huntley Meadows so I visit it frequently throughout the year. Huntley Meadows is a natural wetland acquired by Fairfax County from the US Navy as part of a "land to park" initiative. When the Navy left the land the beavers moved in and created this beautiful wetland. There are walking paths through the park... More
