Hard for me to be totally impartial, this was a favorite place when a student in the area. This is not only the historic church of George Washington and Robert E. Lee, it's also a functioning parish of the Episcopal Church. Services are according to that church's doctrine and worship. However, it's also clear that this congregation is not only... More

Such a lovely, deeply historic structure, one and all will thoroughly enjoy. Any of the historic structures in Olde Town Alexandria, are so completely worth-while!

Christchurch is one of historic Alexandra's most important locations. George Washington, Robert E Lee, FDR and Winston Churchill all worshiped here. Dozens of Confederate soldiers are buried in the church cemetery. The interior of the church is lovely, the steeple is a city land mark. Walk the grounds and you will see many other important landmarks.

We visited Christ Church as part of our walking tour, which we arranged through the visitor's center. We sat in the same box that George Washington, Roosevelt, and other dignitaries sat in when they attended services. A visit to Alexandria wouldn't be complete without a stop at Christ Church.

A simple & elegant church with an openness & lightness that attracts crowds to pay homage & to see the Pews where George Washington & Robert E Lee sat. Plaques indicate these 2 seats. Specific seats are labelled for the visit of President Roosevelt & his wife Eleanor & Prime Minister Winston Churchill who were present for the World Day... More

It's a bit of history in an intensely historic city. George Washington's pew (actually a box) and the interior is still accurately maintained. There is a lovely graveyard around it with shade, for a hot day.

Lots of history in its nooks and crannies. This is an excellent side trip if you like visiting areas and learning how certain buildings mesh with the area's history

From the vintage structure to its historic pews labeled with all the iconic figures that built this country, to the hollowed ground of the cemetery...this is a must for history lovers of our early beginnings. Nestled in the center of Old Town Alex. it is a reminder of how & what our early fathers celebrated their beliefs. So much else... More

Beautiful little church where George Washington worshiped. There is no "tour" per-say but the docent there will be glad to show you around in detail. The attached graveyard is also interesting. Please keep in mind that this is still an active house of worship.

This is a lovely, historic Church in the heart of Old town. The surrounding grounds are beautiful. The Church, although old, in well kept and bright. One can see the pew where George Washington sat. Don't miss this when taking a walk in Old Town.
