The history that took place here is fantastic! This is where George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and many other remarkable founding fathers, I'm sure, discussed the birth of this nation among other political events!

In the past - like over 25 years ago - I played for several George Washington Birthday Balls at Gadsby's. I was anxious to show my current wife what it was all about. The tour is quite interesting, and they do take you to the...More

This is a very quick, yet informative tour. Sometimes they drone on and on but this one gives you great information and keeps it moving. It was funny how they had all this fake food on the table but we loved how they went to...More

I purchased a "key to the city" card at the Alexandria Tourist Information center for $10 and this was one of the places included. It was interesting to see a tavern from the time of George Washington and how people traveled and slept. The place...More

This tavern was right out of a regency novel. Loved the fact George Washington danced in the ballroom. It was a quick tour but the lady was very knowledgeable of the facts.

Great place to visit and right next door to a great restaurant. The place may be haunted - ask the docent about the friendly female spirit!

This is one of those must see places, if only for the fact six presidents socialized here. You can see where they ate, where they danced, where boarders stayed, sharing rope beds and pallets. Very nice docent. Get your city pass from the visitor center...More

Our guide was really charming and the exhibits are fun. Who knew 17th century kids were allowed to drink ale, but not hot chocolate?
