This is our favorite resort in Salt Lake City. We skied this year at the tail end of an incredible series snow storms (almost 100")! We've been here in dry years and there's great snow even when it's been a dry year. There's easy terrain for green skiers, a variety of blues for intermediate skiers, and challenging blacks for experts.... More

After trying other ski areas in the east and west my wife and I keep coming back to Alta. My wife has skied longer than I have and has been to more mountains, but we both agree that Alta is place to ski for us. First, it's convenient, only 45 minutes from the SLC AP. Everything you need, and nothing... More

We had planned on visiting this resort for just part of the ski trip. Since our snowboarders didn't come we ended up just staying there to ski. Everyone was so polite and the crowds weren't too bad. We heard of 1 hour waits in Park city for lifts. Here we never waited more than 10 min! We feel this is... More

Alta Ski area is fantastic for beginners, intermediate and for the advanced. It's been awhile since I've gone skiing and my family signed us all up for their lesson and kudos to Henry, our awesome instructor. He was so patient as we had tons of kids with us including us novice adults who kept falling and couldn't get up. Hahahah... More

Alta is not for those who love luxury resorts. This special mountain is the anti-resort. Each of the lodges is separately owned and operated. It's a quaint, quirky little mountain. The skiing cannot be beat! Come to Alta once and I promise you'll be a convert!

Avalanche controlled by dynamite, yellow helicopters flying heliskiers up the mountain, and views of back country skiing all while skiing an iconic skiers-only resort. Great day with great snow. Lunch at the Rustler was well-worth the stop.

Great day skiing at Alta. We had a wonderful time, staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and saved us money with a few suggestions. As always the snow was perfect . We will most definitely go back there.

Alta, along with the rest of Utah, advertises that it has the greatest snow on earth. That is not puffery. It is totally accurate. I live on the east coast but have taken a trip to Alta each year for 27 years. It is the highlight of my winter. You go to Alta to ski. No boarders are allowed. Sorry.... More
