They put on a small production that we took our niece and nephew to a few years ago. Very clean facilities, really cool old building (that is well maintained), and a great theater for hosting small shows. Very close to the audience so it's great for children to dance in front of the stage and for the actors to interact... More

I have taken my children to many great, interactive productions here. The children usually sit on the floor -- while the adults are seated. Often the performers move through the audience.

Always a pleasant place to see the kids dance, parking is a little challenging, but it is downtown Austin.

I have been here a few times for plays and parties. The ticket office is rude and unfriendly. Also, after a play I stepped outside and my daughter had to use the bathroom. They would not let us back in to use the restroom! We took maybe 2 steps out of the building. They refused. How do you show plays... More

This is a beautifully preserved style of architecture. Interesting on the outside and breathtaking on the inside. Had been in continuous use for many decades, most recently as a children's theatre. Very courteous and helpful staff. Usually can find parking in close proximity.

I've been to the Scottish Rite Theatre a couple times, most recently to see an Indian version of the "Little Red Riding Hood" story. The plays I've seen have always been entertaining and focused on audience engagement, so this is a great place to take younger kids to see a stage production. The building is fantastic. Some of the seats... More

These productions are always well done. Witty and fast paced. I enjoy watching my kids react to the actors. Well worth your time!

Have been to numerous shows here. Great concept for young children. The cast members move throughout children sitting on the floor during the plays which they love. After the shows the performers mingle with the children and sign autographs. A great way for young children to become acquainted with theater.

I recently traveled to Houston specifically to take my 4 year old niece to a Christmas children's play. This was my first visit to this child oriented theatre located in a historic building. The play met all expectations as the scenery and costumes were well crafted. The play was cute and fun for the children as audience participation was part... More
