Phenomenal collection of funky-kitschy stuff stores. A bit of jewelry, lots of decorations, clothes, old junk, "new crap" (off a sign), and interesting places to poke around in. A branch of Allen Boots is here with hundreds if not thousands of styles to choose from...More

Nevermind everyone saying how much SoCo has changed. I'm guilty of it as well now and then, can't become nostalgic without change. It's still a good place to wander around during an afternoon. In and out of the shops, talking with people and so on....More

We took a stroll here, it is trying to be a Camden Town in London. Give it a few years and it will have a bit more quirky ness about it. I enjoyed the shopping and plenty of places to stop and eat or grab...More

We spent much of our time in the downtown core of Austin, and didn't realize the fun that could be had on SoCo. Lots of funky stores, interesting restaurants, clubs, as well as great people watching to be done here. Wish we had taken the...More

Great area to stroll through to check out the trendy shops, restaurants and food trucks. You'll get a hip, keep austin weird vibe here. Visited by locals and tourist alike. Definitely a must see if visiting Austin.

The great thing about South Congress Ave. is that it is lined with many local shops, restaurants and vendor stalls. One time we were strolling down the sidewalk of this avenue during SXSW and met a young couple from Amsterdam who were visiting for the...More

You can go almost anywhere to hear the music. We just dropped into bars. Check out Austin music website that will tell you who is on. If you like jazz then try the elephant bar on congress

Yes, but Uber and Lyft are no longer available. Instead, download the "Ride Austin" app; a similar startup created by mostly former Uber & Lyft drivers.
