Republic Square is a park area that occupies about half of a city block. There is a stone bird sculpture and it's a perfectly nice green space in the middle of the built-up part of Austin but I didn't notice a whole lot else of particular interest as I walked through it.

The place is known and famous for its markets and events. But itself is nothing special although it has an interesting history. Unfortunately the historical buildings don't exist anymore. For me it was a bit too much concrete.

Although small it's really nice. Seems well kept. Place to sit. It's wonderful they have outlets here. Yes, you can charge your phone.

Republic Square has seen some changes over the years. It was once almost totally asphalt but now has gardens, trees, benches, grass and sidewalks. The small park is one block by one block in size and in the middle of downtown. It is a nice place to take a break.

This public square located downtown is host to events such as outdoor movies & farmer's markets. We recently observed lots of locals doing yoga. We would have joined in except we had no mats and had just eaten dinner! Seems a lot of activities take place here.
