The Zilker Zephyr is a first class miniature railroad operated in Zilker Park on Austin's southwest side off Barton Spring Road just east of the MoPac Expressway. The ride is smooth and scenic and about 25 minutes long. The locomotive is a shop brewed diesel...More

The fee isn't bad for what you get. It tours part of Zilker along the water. You can catch a tan or sunburn some of the ride. It's very hot mid summer.

The train goes around the park and then back the same way, through the playground, and a little tunnel. Unfortunately there were fences up all around the park because of a festival and it wasn't very scenic on that side, but it was a nice...More

I grew up in Austin, and still love the train. Wave at everyone you pass, they wave back, it’s expected. kids love it and friends from NY will be amazed.

About 20 mins long. No cover, so take a hat for the sun. Does go through a short tunnel and cuts through a playground that is next to the train.

We were here on a cold sunny winter afternoon. The train was going once an hour on the hour (it may go more frequent in summer, not sure). We paid $3 for an adult, $2 for a kid. The trip goes to the other side...More

Traveling with our friend in a wheelchair can be a challenge, but the train conductor was perfectly accommodating and helpful. The day was getting hot for hiking, so we decided to take a ride! The train track is shaded for almost the entire route, and...More

I would say that most kiddos 100 and below like trains ... and this one is special. It will take you around the park for just a few bucks, 20min of sightseeing, going through tunnels, waving at passerby's, getting smiles, enjoying views .... and chu-chu-chu,...More

Well worth the 45 min car ride to watch my son's delight with the 20 min train ride. I actually think I had more fun than he did, though! The train moved along faster than I expected and the views were great.
