Lovely building with large section devoted to more modern, abstract art which was very interesting. Good representation of Latin/Mexican art.

Staff was friendly and helpful, price was reasonable and the type of art that I was looking for was definitely available. Parking is available across the street for decent price. First 30 min is free and then $3 every hour.

The Blanton is a very nice art museum. It's on the smaller side which makes it easy to see everything. There are contemporary, modern, European and Latin American art rooms. Also a few other smaller ones. Do stop in and spend some time here, you...More

The current exhibit, Curiosities, is so engaging. Parts are funny, parts are just interesting. I enjoyed the permanent exhibits, especially the lobby walls, and hanging installation.

We loved the exhibit by Nina Katchadourian, the video of the blind men meeting the elephant, all the little school kids enjoying art, the big South American colonial Madonna, the square pit filed with pennies and much more. A great visit.

Very convenient location to Bullock State museum, the capitol and the University. Well curated as most of the pieces and artists are lesser known. Moderately priced and since it took a smaller amount of time to see means it becomes worthwhile.

Usually regional museums - especially college museums- are short on contemporary and long on dusty history. The Blanton is the opposite and a surprise in every room. First the curators are brave enough to take regional history and shake it up by introducing local and...More

In keeping with Austin's mantra of "Keep Austin Wierd" one of the first exhibits you experience is by Nina K (can't remember her last name) and selfies taken aboard an airplane's lavatory. First thoughts - wierd and then after reading her thoughts and reasons, very...More

This is one of quite a few wonderful museums in Austin, but what sets it apart is that it is actually part of the University of Austin campus. My girlfriend and I got to stroll through the wonderful campus before viewing a wonderful collection of...More
