Wanted to stop and pay respects to Chris Kyle, a good stop for any dedacated military people, and what a beautifull place

Just off the freeway and next to the baseball stadium downtown. Not particularly morbid to me. Graves are very old. Lots of big names are here. Beautiful place to walk or sit.

We visited the State Cemetery and were very impressed with how beautifully maintained it was. It's a interesting walk, and many famous people in Texas History are buried here, as well as local celebrety. There are nice concrete sidewalks and many large trees to shade...More

We initially went to visit Chris Kyle's monument. Once there we walked around for an hour or so and came away thoroughly impressed by the beauty and serenity of the grounds. Lots of historical figures from Texas history have made their final resting place here.

On a US holiday and this was a must stop. Had a good walk around in a very warm day. Gardens in excelent condition and well looked after. Some history here and to see all the names in the old part that shaped the history.

I've visited many cemeteries, mostly in the South East, but never one that was an official state cemetery. It was a really cool mix of military and civilians. If you're a proud native Texan, or just enjoy history or statuary, this place is definitely worth...More

This is a beautifully laid out resting place for many of the best-known historical figures either from Texas or who made their home here later. Apparently the grounds had gone into disarray and were recently renovated to appropriate historical status. One of the most recent...More

Yes parking is available inside the cemetery but it gets crowded sometimes. Best to Park outside and walk in. Get to see more that way. Well worth the walk.
