I always enjoy a romp around this cemetery. The first time I went was as an extra credit project for a TX History class. I had a list of clues and needed to find the deceased's name, or sometimes something about the person. It took...More

This Cemetery is the final resting place for many notable Texans in an easy-to-visit setting just east of the Capitol Complex. If you know anything about Texas history you will find many names you recognize.

This is a wonderful place to spend time, reading headstones and thinking about history, or just reflecting on life. It's beautifully laid out and perfectly maintained. Texas' version of Arlington.

I have been here several times to see the graves of family. The number of famous Texans buried here is remarkable. Worth the time to see.

Yes parking is available inside the cemetery but it gets crowded sometimes. Best to Park outside and walk in. Get to see more that way. Well worth the walk.
