I was on a group tour of the Texas State Cemetery and was not expecting the tour to be as great as it was. Our tour guide really knew his history and had stories to help make the history come alive. The setting is peaceful and serene. If you are interested in Texas history this cemetery is a must see.... More

Beautiful, well kept area of peace and tranquility. An area has been set aside for all Confederate soldiers who were killed in Civil war. Monument to 9/11 also interesting

We didn't have a lot of time here, as we arrived about 45 minutes before they were going to close, but its a beautiful cemetery with a lot of interesting people located in it. They have a nice 9/11 memorial and we enjoyed it.

Another tour of an amazing place. Political, military, business, sports and civilian leaders of Texas rest here. This is an amazing place.

Was in Austin for several days of meetings. Was able to sneak away to walk thru this cemetery. Was particularly looking for Navy SEAL Chris Kyle's grave. Very moving. As the son of a veteran, I'm grateful for the way this place is cared for.

We did not do the Audio Tour but will do this next time!!! Lovely grounds just east of Austin (around the corner from Hillside Pharmacy - yum) Did some online research prior to going - but the visitor map/guide is also very thorough. AGAIN - DO THE AUDIO TOUR.

I have lived in Austin for 35 years and had not visited here until this week - my loss for not discovering this sooner! Such a beautiful and peaceful location - great walking trails for navigating the grounds. Staff in the visitor's center is extremely helpful. TIP: staff suggested coming in April when the grounds and flowers are starting to... More
