Lovely building, nice view of the lake on 6th floor
I came from Houston to check out their story time with my 1 and 4 year old. The woman leading it was very engaging. It is a very nice building, lovely architecture. Worth a walk-thru if you happen to be in the area, hardly any parking though, so I wouldn't recommend driving here specifically out of your way just to visit.

    Love this Library
This is the best library ever - the view is gorgeous from the top balcony, and there are so many places to sit, relax, read, or even work! If you're looking to get some exercise in, there are plenty of stairs to climb! be sure to visit the petting zoo as well!

    Incredible library!
What an incredible public library! Our family from Atlanta was visiting Austin during the solar eclipse and they were giving out free solar glasses so we came here. But we also ended up visiting every floor of the library and awestruck with all the things in the library. Only negative thing is the underground parking is quite cramped and limited.

Beautiful building and roof top lookout garden. Would love to just bring a book and enjoy the ambiance. Noticed young people with their laptops.

The Austin Central Library is a stunning example of modern architecture, with a design that inspires innovation and creativity. The rooftop garden offers a beautiful view of Barton Springs, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Whether you're a book lover, a tech enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful spot, this library has something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit!

This is such a beautiful place - definitely worth a visit. It is so bright and airy, we took the flights of stairs to the outdoor patio on the 4th floor and took in the views of the city. Worth a visit!

If you are into architecture, you don't want to miss this library. Beautifully designed, with a lovely floating staircase. It has a delightful rooftop patio. I also admired how the designers planned out so many special spots in the library, such as a large area for children, and one just for teens, and more.

This was supposed to be "the cool stop... ya gotta check it out." I don't get it. No parking. The place is filled with over paid techies and homeless. Anything special seems to have disappeared.

Our walking tour guide recommended a visit, and I'm so glad we did. There is a wonderful roof top garden, with seating and a fabulous view of the Lake. Very restful and beautiful. We also grabbed a couple of magazines and spent a zen hour in the very quiet reading room, seated in very comfy armchairs, and a view that also partially overlooked the Lake. Loved it.

A well designed modern architecture signature structure for the City of Austin. Well executed sections dedicated to children & young families. The incorporation of outdoor elements that remind you of your proximity to the city center is pretty impressive. Parking garage is on-site below the six story structure. A gift shoppe and cafe are also on-site.
