Fun

Great place to hang out with friends but be prepared for chilly water. It is still a lot of fun. Also bring a towel to lay out on.

What a wonderful pool with cool clear water surrounded by majestic Oaks and Pecan trees. Swim laps or play in the water, it is 1,000 feet long and always 68 degrees. Ladies if you forgot your top you can swim topless.

If you love nature, then it's a highly recommended place in Austin for a visit...If you love swimming then it's a must...a beautiful river, absolutely clean water with all amenities for a nice swim or lazing around..The water was cold but worth the efforts..

Spring water fills this enormous outdoor pool. It is aways warm and clean. Rocks surround one side and public pool amenities the other. They even have a diving board. Kid friendly as rocks gently stretch out into shallow end. Saw several mom's and babies on these rocks far from the end where visitors from licker and flipped off the diving... More

This is austin. Best way to enjoy this, is to get hot and sweaty and exhausted. Then take a jump, do not walk in, into the pool. The cold water will rejuvenate you and make the rest of the day relaxing. It's a great place to spend a day, but remember no food or drinks, but they allow you to... More

Brrrr!!! (Yes, the water is COLD). We went on one of the traditional hot Austin days - over 100 degrees. We put our feet into the cold water (and watched them turn blue!!). There were swimmers in the water and I did go swimming for a few minutes - thinking I might adjust - but no, it was cold. BUT... More

A friendly atmosphere clearly with plenty of interest, we queen at the gates with many others then paid a non residence fee to enter. Once in we enjoyed the springs we soaked up the rays listening to everyone enjoying themselves. We also found the local people very kind offering us parking tick to before we paid for ours. Paying it... More

Austin is located where it is, partly because of the activity around Barton Springs, near downtown and the capital building. Spring-fed and 67 degrees year round, open until 10PM nightly. Swim 1/8 mile in a straight line before having to turn around - where else can you do that in a pool?

So this is a natural pool that is blocked off but has river water in it. I've never seen anything like this. We came in December, so not a particularly warm time but there were still people swimming there. It looked clean and refreshing. There's a diving board but for the most part it's very shallow.

I came here not knowing exactly what to expect of the pool but found the place very interesting. It is a natural pool that stays around 68 degrees year round due to the springs. It was cold when I visited so people were wearing robes from their cars to the pool early in the morning. It is also home to... More
