I was at a conference in Austin for the weekend, and decided to take my dog with me. After the conference, I took my dog for a walk through various areas of the park. This was a very pleasant park. I went to the lower falls and then drove to the upper falls and walked for a while through the... More

Excellent state park in Austin! The sites are huge. Most will accomdate any size rig. Many even have tent pads on them as well. We had no trouble with our 40' fifth wheel. We were in a pull out site and there were many back in sites that would have been just fine. The park was full and they are... More

The state park is very nice! Great bike/hike trail. Best time to visit the Falls is after good rain. Camping is wonderful. Close to Austin, which is really cool!

Great place to camp with lots of sites , and great trails to hike and bike. Many of the sites are quite private and its a great place for wildlife and photography - so close to the city but also quiet and beautiful.

I could imagine a longer visit than we had time for, as we only did the two short trails down to the waterfalls. They are not big, but are nonetheless impressive and well worth the visit. A normal walker could easily get there; the walk is neither long nor strenuous. There are more trails than we had time for.

This park is near downtown Austin and is just beautiful. Many walking trails with river and water falls access, along with lots of picnic tables. The campsites were large and level, with trees, and bathrooms cleaned regularly. However, years of apparent financial neglect and resultant deferred maintenance are visible in lots of places: paved roads are deteriorating and paved trails... More

A nice hike along the water. Amazing when to the falls. We were there in January, not the time of year for greenery and to play in the water. But it was fun walking and seeing the falls.

What a beautiful park right outside of downtown Austin! Very easy to find. We arrived about 10:30 on a Saturday and there were only about 3 cars in front of us to get in. You will need to get a park permit which is $6 per person not car! I was a little surprised by the cost - most parks... More

Nice easy hikes through traditional Texas scenery. Even a little bit of history (the ruin of an 1850s stone cabin) for those that like that sort of thing.

I love being able to walk over ancient lava flows from millions of years ago. It's prettier after rains, with a bit of moisture tracking the same direction of the flows... Beautiful hiking areas!
