Cool place to visit in the early evening. They have paddle boat rentals and kayaks. You have to stick around for the flight of the bats.

Some great views of both the water and the city. And great for people watching too. It's a pretty busy area, and unfortunately some are pigs and litter in this beautiful area!

It is so wonderful to take a walk around Town Lake, or ride a bike. There are several boating rentals and nothing beats rowing for a serene activity! A true treasure in downtown Austin

Had a great time walking around the lake. The walking trail is super busy but big enough that you can pass people with no problem. Beautiful area to stretch your legs and work off some of that food you ate!

Running the trails is one of the many things to do at Town Lake. The trails are a bit shaded by the trees/shubbery. Good atmosphere of people, runners, places to stop/sit. Not too many restrooms along the running trail. Several water fountains, but not so...More

Went to Austin to see the bat colony and took the 'bat cruise'. Poor Lady Bird would roll over in her grave if she saw the filth (trash, plastic bottles, styrofoam, etc.) floating in the water, along with it being clogged with algae and green...More

Great waterway with plenty to do. There are trails along the banks and you can paddleboard on the lake. It's pretty busy on the weekends. Great to have something like this right downtown.

For swimming, definitely check out Barton Springs or Deep Eddy. I know paddleboarding is popular on Town Lake, and you can find rentals for paddleboards and kayaks.

Parking - Lots of it! Just depends on where you are staying or arriving along the 10 mile hike & bike trail around the lake. If east of IH-35, we suggest you Google the Austin Hostel and park near the lake on the south side... More
