All the bats start flying and it's almost a sea of wings. Kids love to see them as they start their flight for food after sleeping all day.

This was the second time for me to actually sit under the Congress bridge on the grass with lots of relatives and watch all the bats come out. I'm not a huge fan of any flying object but the bugs/ mosquitos were the worst part...More

This may not sound terrific, but it is. I saw the bats flying from a boat on the lake. It was unbelievable to watch as they filled the sky with black and just kept coming. Very unusual.

Yes this was a sunny warm beautiful day November 30th for enjoying the walking trails underneath Congress Avenue Bridge. The bats only come out in the evening, so don’t worry about that when going under. But may want to plug your nose. Be careful of...More

And it isn't the bridges fault, so it gets a 3/5 for being a perfectly acceptable bridge, but it loses points for not being full of bats when I needed it to be.

This is a community event. Lots of people, little parking. The bats were plentiful and on time. Interesting "Austin" 1-time visit. Spoiler alert: you might get dumped on.

I am afraid not. Usually the bats come in spring time, you will be a month or 2 early. There is a website called bats in austin, I would check that out. I tried to post the link but Tripadvisor said no.

The bats won’t be there in December. They will have already returned to Mexico
