Being a long time Mary Kay customer, I was delighted to learn that there was a museum at the corporate headquarters in north Dallas, so we took time for a quick visit on our way through Dallas. The museum is open from 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday, with guided tours at 10 am and 2 pm, reserved by calling 972.687.5720. We visited at the end of the day, but found the Visitors Guide with self guided tour information very helpful. The awards and articles about Mary Kay were inspiring, but my favorite displays were of past product lines, and clothing (Mary Kay's gowns and sales directors' suits). I also enjoyed looking for familiar names in the National Sales Directors Hall of Honor, and seeing the plaques highlighting the varied International Sales Directors.

Five women ranging in age from early 50 to early 70, and living in various parts of Dallas, met in the impressive glass lobby this past week. We were awed with the building's beauty. We had lunch in the Mary Kay Restaurant and were delighted with the many food selections that were both tasty and affordable. After lunch we spent almost two hours leisurely enjoying the history and growth of Mary Kay's skin care product line beginning from 1963 to the present. We learned and saw things such as: why pink, suited for success, Cinderella gifts, the diamond bumblebee pin, "On Silver Wings", "Helping Heart", and "The Cross of the Millenium". Also on display were past and current product lines, past career apparel and Mary Kay gowns. This is a first-class, must-see museum honoring an extraordinary lady....and it is free of charge.

Chartered Bus Trip dropped us off here and we had lovely visit. As previously mentioned the museum is small and in a corner of the lobby. There is NO gift shop. Just a tiny wall by the coffee kiosk in the cafeteria with a few items.
When I finished in the Museum I walked over to see the Cafeteria and it was a "gem". There was big salad bar, hot food, sandwiches, soups and desserts. All the salads were made fresh and looked wonderful. If you arrive during breakfast or lunch I highly recommend dining here.
Museum was well done and a couple of videos and one movie in a little theater.
Our tour bus drove by her home which is for sale for $3 million. I came home and looked at interior and very impressive. What a lady!

I went to the Mary Kay Museum with my oldest daughter and grandaughter. We thought, yeah we'll learn about how Mary Kay got started, be able to buy some product and maybe learn some application pointers, guess again. While yes, we did learn about how Mary Kay got started (literally - including clothes she wore), there was no where to buy any Mary Kay products and no application technique tips what so ever. They could at least make some newer products available to patrons that visit the museum.

This is a free museum in Addison, TX, just north of Dallas that contains the history of the Mary Kay philosophy and how she helped many women earn an income who did not necessarily have the technical skills to hold an official job. Many, many families were saved by the money made by the Mary Kay sales force.

If you have a EVER been a Mary Kay independent Beauty Consultant then you SHOULD see this museum! You WANT to see this museum. You will revel in the GLORY of this museum. And even if you have neve been associated with this pink company you will still find this place interesting if you are a woman. Mary Kay, the woman, was ALL about women. Her steadfast belief in Faith, Family, Work...in that order...is what built this empire. It's fun to look back at what was popular over the decades. This empire is a tribute to women everywhere.

First of all, it was hard for us to figure out where to park and how to get in. Self guided tour. Huge amount of company history and items to look at as well as videos. I was so bummed that they didn’t have a gift shop!

Ever wonder how the lady down the street got that Pink Cadillac? This is the place to learn about how Multi Level Marketing and selling make up has made several people, most notably Ms Mary Kay, very wealthy. There is interesting information here about the business, the people and the products that have made Mary Kay so well recognized. An interesting place to see.

The building is impressive but unless you want to see newspaper clippings of Mary Kay and old products they sold, skip it. Beautiful building, though. Never realized Mary Kay could have made that much money.

I was there 5 times, and each time open something new to myself
I hold business with Mary Kay since 1993 and that place for me is more than history.
Even you are not a customer or Beauty Consultant, its interesting to know about people who changed history, like Mary Kay Ash
