Abbeville is one of my favorite small towns to visit in SC with so much to offer for the day or a weekend. One of my favorite stops is Trinity Episcopal Church. This historic building is steeped in history and is an amazing piece of architecture, two of my most passionate interests. It harkens to a simpler and more peaceful... More

Although it seems to be falling down, this is actually a vibrant little church. We have visited there for historic occasions as well as visiting while looking for a local church. If possible, get one of the older members of the church to tell you some of the great stories about the Civil War era. Fascinating.

I've visited Abbeville, SC several times in the last few years and I ALWAYS make time to drop in on Trinity for a little peaceful time in a beautiful, old church ... This historic Church should be on the top of everyone's list while visiting Abbeville! The stained glass windows are breathtakingly beautiful and the church itself is a classic monument of 19th century church architecture. Don't miss this peaceful sanctuary in this lovely, classic Southern town!

This National Register church is impressive, alright. As you approach along Trinity Street, the view of the tall-steepled front of this venerable Gothic beauty (consecrated 1860) is downright dramatic. Inside, the tall and narrow stained glass windows merit the high praise that reviewers have heaped on them. Trinity Episcopal is located just one block from the town square and definitely... More

A miniature cathedral in this lovely Southern town, with an unbelievable collection of mid-19th century stained glass. So lucky that the church receives visitors all through the week when most other historic buildings are closed. Enjoyed a concert here, too, and the acoustics were world-class.

What a lovely church. It looks like it was transplanted from a village in France. The stained glass windows are lovely and the atmosphere so peaceful.....

A gorgeous old church which has fallen into some disrepair. The visible aging, though, does not detract from its design, its stained glass windows, and it historical value. It's definitely worth spending some time in and around. Its cemetery is interesting, too.

Abbeville has many old churches (many old buildings all over town) but if you like the architecture and especially fantastic old stained glass, you should not miss a visit to this church.

Not only is the beauty and architecture of this church worth seeing, the members are so friendly, welcoming and gracious. The gentleman practicing the organ music welcomed us in and told us about the church's history. He then played Christmas music for us.
