You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

Outstanding theater in Ashland, OR

OSF is well known outside of Ashland and for good reason. It puts on very high caliber plays (Shakespeare and others) in a beautiful setting. Well worth a trip!

Grandson's first Shakespeare play, Two Gentlemen from Verona, and then Coconuts - what a hoot! We laughed and giggled thru the entire show. The actors were fantastic. I had forgotten how funny the Marx Brothers were. Nathan made numerous friends in their Gift Shop.

Two Gentlemen of Verona, Richard III, and Cocoanuts. In fact get tickets to see Cocoanuts twice - the zingers go by so fast it is hard to catch them all the first time! Hilarious fun! The all-female cast of Two Gentlemen was amazing - they mastered male body language exceptionally well. Particularly enjoyed Launce as performed by KT Vogt (who... More

OSF has another year of top quality entertainment. We enjoyed all four places we saw: * Water by the Spoonful: stunning cast, powerful play, mature subject matter. My 16 year old daughter and my favorite. * The Cocoanuts: hysterical Marx Brothers humor with fresh improvisation every night. Highly recommended. * Two Gentleman of Verona: stunning costumes and staging. Talented and... More

The Tempest is beautiful. Our whole family loved it. Don't miss Water by the Spoonful - great writing, wonderful acting. For a fun evening, no thinking required, see Cocoanuts. We will be back to see the outdoor plays!

We saw the all women cast in Two Men From Verona. We loved, loved, loved it. Such a great twist from the 1500's when it was performed by all men! Fun, crisp, and funny, very well executed!

We happened to be in the area for Father's Day weekend, so decided to take in a play. Having seen Richard III (multiple times) we opted for "The Cocoanuts" - a remade-for-stage version of the Marks Brother's film of the same name. Mark Bedard plays an almost perfect Groucho - walk, talk, and all - and accompaniments from the three... More

There is nothing better than live theater, and no one does it better than the OSF. Backstage tours, as many plays as you can see on your visit, and enjoying the ambience is what makes this experience so memorable!

The reason OSF works is that you can see live theater at a time that is allowed by your schedule. We can't plan our vacations around theatrical production. Our vacations are determined by pauses between products. That's the foundation of why OSF works. Most of the time the theater is very good. Every now and then it is spectacular. We... More

Richard III and The Tempest were particularly good, all the others were good enough to attend again.
