You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

The plays were marvelous. The actors superb. The sets and directing imaginative. Even when it rained at the outdoor theater the show went on with actors incorporating the rain in their ad libs. Won't see this level of theater even in NYC.

Everything about it. The plays were primo; The Great Society did not disappoint. Coupled with it's prequel, All the Way, the best plays we've ever seen. Can't wait until to come to Seattle at the end of the year. The backstage tour we took was...More

Ashland players made a switch on Shakespeare. The entire cast is played by women. The play was delightful! Full of laughs.

My husband & I attended a class mini- reunion in Ashland, OR that was centered around the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. (OSF). We were extremely impressed with the quality and selection of the plays we saw. What we didn't realize was the OSF is a repertory...More

We saw Two Gentlemen from Verona. It was funny, and the actors were engaging. The venue is pleasant. My husband had trouble understanding the Elizabethan English, so I wish there had been "subtitles" like they now have at operas. It helps to bring a cushion...More

Our second visit here, and we saw three plays, The Tempest in Angus Bowmer Theater, what a neat, sparse way to do this play, the whole setup was clean and just really made the whole focus on the story rather than the scenery, which is...More

Loved the Shakespeare Festival. Recommend to anyone. My 11 year old and 9 year old were enthralled with 2 Gentlemen of Verona.

Delightful musical comedy playing at the Bowmer Theatre. Just another wonderful production at the OSF. Can hardly wait for the 2015 season. If you haven't been to one of OSF plays in Ashland, I highly recommend you do so.

We saw Richard lll and it was very well done. It was in the outside Shakespeare theater. The talent is excellent and the plays are always interesting. They also have other plays in the other theaters there so you can be sure to find one...More

We have attended 5 or 6 plays now and it is always a treat. We usually see productions staged in the outdoor Elizabethan Theater, but this time opted for an indoor play. I would have to say I do prefer the outdoor theater. But you...More

We're hard at work getting ready for next season, which begins in February and runs through the end of October. I hope you'll be able to join us!
We'll be driving our own car into Ashland this Saturday midday & plan to visit Bell Fiore Winery on our way into town Saturday. We've booked Plaza Suites at Ashland Creek (understand it's within walking distance to theaters). Seeing the Wiz Saturday night in the Elizabethan Theater @ 8PM. Already saw The River Bride. Any suggestions for things to do Saturday afternoon - or places to eat dinner before the play? Any suggestions welcome - it will just be me & husband (ages 62 & 71). Thanks
