You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The theater was small enough and I don't think there was a bad seat anywhere. The actors were all very talented, the costumes very nice and the story was very well told with plenty of humor.

I love Ashland. Grew up there years ago, and always had a dose of Shakespeare every year in English class -whether wanted, or not. The theater scene is conveniently located near the lovely Plaza, and Lithia Park. When visiting Ashland, I often check the ticket...More

The Odyssey was wonderful. This was the quickest 3.5 hours we have ever spent. The acting, as always, was excellent. The special effects were very clever, and the costumes brilliant!

5 stars for the city of Ashland, the region in general, and the cast and crew of the modern twist to "Merry Wives of Windsor"; 1 star for the audience members who marinated in so much perfume/cologne/hair products that not even the OUTDOOR Allen Elizabethan...More

Comfortable seating. Not a bad seat in the house. However, be prepared for strong air conditioning. Very hot outside; be prepared : bring a sweater, sweatshirt or jacket, because you may want it. So far we have seen 2 plays in the theatre and enjoyed...More

I have seen many plays at OSF but this was an unexpected visit. Odysseus was so full of surprises. So imaginative a telling of a timeless tale.

Theaters felt intimate and actors were close to the audience. The Elizabethan theater was beautiful. Performances were creative and passionate. Reasonable prices. Relaxed atmosphere.

We're hard at work getting ready for next season, which begins in February and runs through the end of October. I hope you'll be able to join us!
We'll be driving our own car into Ashland this Saturday midday & plan to visit Bell Fiore Winery on our way into town Saturday. We've booked Plaza Suites at Ashland Creek (understand it's within walking distance to theaters). Seeing the Wiz Saturday night in the Elizabethan Theater @ 8PM. Already saw The River Bride. Any suggestions for things to do Saturday afternoon - or places to eat dinner before the play? Any suggestions welcome - it will just be me & husband (ages 62 & 71). Thanks
