I love all of the piers on the Outer Banks and Avon Pier is no exception! I like that the sightseeing pass is only $1 per person and is good all day. We walked from our beach house to see the sunrise and then again...More

Easily one of the best parts of the trip - whether fishing, feeding the fish, watching others fish for sharks, or simply enjoying the sites. Not the best constructed as far as piers go, but that just adds to the character and uniqueness! Fishing licenses, poles,...More

Anti-2A sign on entry, big minus! Grumpy old guy at the counter, not feeling welcome. Lots of people fishing, no one catching. Took a few pics back towards the beach for only a buck.

The pier looks almost like a small roller coaster, you can feel the sway of the ocean. The fishing is amazing and their is a sea turtle that swims around. Big stingrays come through the area too and of course sharks!

Fun time for kids and husband fishing. I was a sightseer and appreciated the reduced admission. The kids loved it!

I haven't fished here, yet, but I've never pier fished before. I do, however, take a walk down this pier to check out what the fisherman are doing. It;s a very nice pier with nice amenities and they sell $1 PBRs with a cool PBR...More

Great view for when the sun is setting. Packed tight with tons of fishermen that are going off the pier, but we never felt like we were in the way. Finally, the pier looks to be in rough shape and what I mean is that...More
