Nice pier for fishing - I must admit that I have never been on a pier with as many horizontal and vertical twists before - it was a high wind day and it was a bit unnerving. Nice ocean views though 600 feet into the...More

The Avon Pier is a great place to go fishing for the bounty that the Atlantic Ocean Holds. These include: puppy drum, blues, spots, crackers, trout, sea bass, sheep head and much more!

We walked on the pier. Just a relaxing stroll. Did people watching and water watching. Very inexpensive.

Cheap entertainment and bait. Affordable equipment rental. Kids loved catching and releasing the baby sharks. They were plentiful, to say the least!

I love all of the piers on the Outer Banks and Avon Pier is no exception! I like that the sightseeing pass is only $1 per person and is good all day. We walked from our beach house to see the sunrise and then again...More

Easily one of the best parts of the trip - whether fishing, feeding the fish, watching others fish for sharks, or simply enjoying the sites. Not the best constructed as far as piers go, but that just adds to the character and uniqueness! Fishing licenses, poles,...More

Anti-2A sign on entry, big minus! Grumpy old guy at the counter, not feeling welcome. Lots of people fishing, no one catching. Took a few pics back towards the beach for only a buck.
