We have been taking our kids to this zoo for years. Now in their teens, they still have a good time. This zoo is very spacious, with some hike time in between exhibits. Can be a little hilly at times. Trams are available, and appreciated...More

I've visited many zoos but this one tops them all for placing the animals in habitats similar to their natural habitats. They have room to roam, run, swim, play. And it's amazing how up close they are to the people. This was a jaw-dropping experience...More

Wonderful place to visit, we preferred the African side of the zoo, much more to see and take advantage of the tram, walking up hill for a couple of miles isn't fun!

We didn't even bother going to the other side of the zoo. The half we did see was so upsetting. The animals were few and in between. You couldn't see them and I'm from FL I swear the alligators were fake. They weren't even breathing....More

I did not check out the situation for wheelchair assessability, but I do know that there are free trams, buses and shuttles around the zoo, and to the parking lots. There is a hop on site near each entrance, and one more... More

I would suggest the Hampton Inn. There's another hotel right beside it also. These are the closest.

I stayed at the Hampton Asheboro with my grandkids. They loved the large indoor pool, and breakfast was great. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
