Bodrum Windmills

Sadly only one of the Windmils is in decent repair but it's worth walking up the hill to look around them and a family sells tea and other drinks from a tent near the site. There... read more

we drove up the hill with our own car and had to be very careful to park off the road without scratching the undercarriage as the road is higher than the dirt patch you can park on.The hill is strewn with broken glass from beer bottles and you have to watch were you walk. The windmills are in various state... More

Ootain beautiful windmills what I had seen in local shops with souvenirs. Shipping shifting overlooking shattered, forgotten and deserted ruins. The only beauty that there was a view of Bodrum. That was all. While there, be very careful because the ground is full of broken glass.

Came up the hill to see these only because they were literally up the hill behind our hotel and because we hoped there will be some view. On close look, these ruins are quite awful, you can go inside but there is nothing there and stinks of wee. Only one windmill is little bit more preserved but is protected by... More

We visited the windmills and was shocked to see the state of them, there was glass everywhere, needles that would have been used for drug abuse and litter everywhere . There are beautiful panorama views of Bodrum that are worth the visit to the windmills but they should be looking at making the area into a grassed area for Turkish and tourist... More

If you are not fit &/or able to walk up hills and out in the heat for an hour then take a taxi. Most importantly do go up to windmills. The views are stunning and g=ive you a great overall perspective of Bodrum and the surrounding areas. It is a short walk back down to the Mita Bodrum Marina where... More

Perfect picture spot but highly neglected :-( we had dozens of beautiful pictures at sunset - 360 degrees around Bodrum but oh how poorly kept and unloved. Clearly disrespected .....glass everywhere and my poor six year old witnessed a local man urinating in one of the windmills! In need of a cleanup and some good TLC- so much potential.

It is a picturesque part of the peninsula, nice to walk along, to see the view. Best place to take pictures.. but it is a long walk.

We walked up from our hotel in Gumbet - we Google-mapped and followed the road. The walk took about 20mins and it wasn't as steep as it looks. The windmills are dilapidated so don't get too excited about those! The view is lovely though so it is definitely worth the walk. There is smashed glass everywhere so don't do what... More
