We went to this museum since we where already in the area. I was with my family with a 5 yr old. The entrance fee was just Php30 per person (regardless of age). We were informed that the 2nd floor of the museum is currently under renovation (January 2017), we were informed that it will be under renovation for another... More

The Vargas Museum is located at Roxas Avenue, UP Diliman, Quezon City. Ride a UP bound jeep from Philcoa and the museum is the first building on the right after the UP Oblation and the Administration Building. The museum has three levels. At the first floor, one can find the current but temporary exhibits, which at the time of this... More

Each time I visit Manila, I seek out a few more art museums that I haven't seen. Each museum has their own unique qualities, and collections and buildings can vary quite a bit. The Vargas Museum is a classic university venue - smart, high quality, carefully selected work, thoughtful exhibitions that counterpoint the main holdings. The work of filipino National... More

Small but excellent once private collection of mostly 20th century Philippine paintings. A great discovery for art, culture and history buffs. Located in a beautiful leafy corner on the University of the Philippines campus in Diliman, Quezon City. A small cafe attached to the museum serves excellent coffee and cakes. Quiet, peaceful surroundings - a wonderful escape from Manila's noisy... More

If you find yourself around the UP area with some time to spare, do visit the Vargas Museum. You would be surprised at their collection of paintings, some from National Artists and contemporary art. I last visited during a Philippine comic book exhibit.

going around UP is one unique experience. a top ranking university amidst lush peaceful ambience. the museum shouldnt be your priority going to UP. its a good but average museum with paintings from classical filipino artists. it is worth a visit but do not expect too much.

This art museum is situated in a lovely, leafy area among the grounds of university buildings, which feels like a long way from the usual madness of Manila streets. It is a perfect size for anyone who wants to see a bit of work from Filipino artists without being overwhelmed, because there are basically only 2 floors containing exhibits and... More

This is one of those not so well-known museums around the city, but is a true must-see for any UP Diliman visit. Displays mostly artwork consisting of paintings, sketches, drawings, and some sculpture from the masters of yore..this is an artist's haven. It also showcases some modern and avant-garde art of the younger generation, from caricatures, comics, and "installation" art.... More
