University of Santo Tomas serve as one of our historic places. My cousin used to study in this university and I dreamed of being in here too. I met my girlfriend in this place which makes it memorable for me. School, Church and Hospital is great.

I studied in this University long ago, and that time, whenever my husband (or my boyfriend then) wait for me to finish my classes, he doesn't mind waiting for four hours, because the scenery is calming. There are green grasses and plants everywhere. The main building is very nice. There are parks and pavilions where he can sit and hang... More

I graduated from ust in late 70's. I went back to visit the medical school and hospital, took a tour and presented a talk. it was much improved from years ago and is quite prosperous looking now. they do an excellent job of training medical students and residents. very impressed with how they maintained and improved over the years.

We were interested in the quadricentennial park fountain which was lighted in the evening. It was awesome. The architecture were centuries old and it has also some mixture of the new structures. It is a Roman Catholic teaching and research University composed of several Faculties The Patron of the University is St. Thomas Aquinas, while St. Catherine of Alexandria is... More

The University of SantoTomas is my alma mater since I entered its walls as an elementary student and went on to high school and to a college degree. It is the hallmark of catholic education in the Philippines being run by the Dominican fathers. Established in 1611 during the Spanish times, it is the oldest academic institution in the country... For the past seven years, I have been coming back as an alumni of UST. It is with pride to state that it is the oldest catholic university of the Philippines. It is a pontifical university. The Main Building still stands and contains the museum. I recommend visiting UST specially those students who come home for a visit. You will... More

I'm giving it a poor rating because you can't even enter the campus. The security is very tight in the university. It's a gorgeous campus, with beautiful architecture and greenery and so much history, but you can't go in without an ID or a good excuse so I really wouldn't recommend going here... unless you know someone who can get... Why the ranking is so high? Who cares about the academic performance since you can't even enter the campus? This place is NOT open for tourists. You will be stopped by an armed security unless you have the permission. If you want to waste your time for a while, then just go.

Every time i visit, nostalgia gets over me. The historic main building is an imposing facade to the years before us and its academic reputation as not only old but excellent education makes you want to enjoy and wonder about the place. The place in itself is large to walk around with the trees that provide shade makes the pondering... More
