Do not get me wrong. I love that we have Intramuros to show everyone how rich our history was during the colonial times BUT it is not a good sight to see all these beggars, homeless people and possibly squatters in this tourist spot. I do not feel safe when I went there to take my family and my English... More

I am rating the 67-square-kilometer Intramuros (Within the Walls) with an 'excellent' mark if only for the painstaking efforts which both the Philippine government and private sector are exerting for the preservation of this 16th century Walled City after being leveled to the ground during World War II. entering at the cathedral end (separate review) of things I took a cyclo trip around the old walled city (Intra=internal and muros = wall) which advertise at 300php for 30 minutes but understand that this means per person per half hour. Understand that all the cyclos are the same size and fit one big person or two smaller peeps so... More

Intramuros is just a whiff of colonial times and nothing more than that. After all is a neighborhood a little less dirty than most of the city. Two to three hours of visit will be enough.

This is my 2nd trip here. We visited the San Agustin Church which is one of 4 Baroque Churches in the Philippines which are inscribed on the UNESCO world heritage list. There are several other churches here that are worth visiting.

we enjoy our walking to this old historic place.Althoug a lot of pedi cab people keep bugging us,trying to let us ride in their cab so thet can show us around.Walking is a choice for us because it is close to everything plus we can check other areas.
