The Quiapo Church contains the image of the Black Nazarene, which hangs in the entrance way. It also has statues of newly named saints. Devotees touch and kiss the statues and cases, so bring hand sanitizer. The church itself is large and not overly ornate but the real show is the market outside. There, hawkers sell medicinal plants and potions... More

Expect too many people there. Cheap market place at the back of Church wherein you can buy cheap clothes, shoes and food. But always be careful and watch your pocket from bad people around.

The landmark is the heart of Old Manila culture: Insanely religious, incessantly busy yet ominously muted acoustically in the basilica's immediate environs. While no wrong doing has ever befallen me here, it is best to be more vigilant than normal because even the locals will warn of pick pickets and "snatchers" (people who make a living stealing handbags, phones and... I used to served in this Church as Lector but due to time and schedule I needed to stop maybe until its time again. Many devotees as in many flock in this cHurch specially on fridays. It will always be a challenge getting inside specially on first fridays. Parking is not available. During night time you can park but it... More

Very impressed with the Spanish architecture. Even though was very crowed, I had to visit. Many people selling religious works on the side of the church.

While the Quiapo Basilika was not so impressive architecturally, the bustling markets behind were fascinating. Having read about the pickpockets, I was very careful of my bag but met some lovely locals tending their stalls. Plenty of statues of Black Nazarenes to be had, plus little clothes for your home shrine idol, mysterious charms, herbs & natural remedies, the odd... More

We always visit this church every time we visit Philippines. I felt complete as soon as I step inside the church, very emotional, peace of mind and above all, our trip is not good if we miss to visit this church

I was in the church (not during mass) and trying to take a picture. Some staff came to me and was very upset that I had my camera out in the church. I was legally right but they did not seem to care at all!
