Watch live action in a fish market

You can watch people buying fish, getting it cut into pieces and delivered in a very systematic fashion. you are likely to get your feet wet.

The place near by. Ones we are reach the Male city we can go by walk. That is the best way. Because of city is very very small and many vehicles, specially lots of motor bikes. Any way we are there to explore and decided to walk on the street. So interesting to see this life style and what they... More

Frantic but interesting. Plenty of fish in both species and number. The action is incomprehensible but has to be seen to be believed

Not the largest fish market but it's worth a look if you happen to be passing by....you can visit the fruit and veg market on the other side of the road as well. The market is clean and it's interesting to see how it operates.

Standard fish market over seas! Giant fish, biggest tuna you've ever seen; guts eveywhere and a fishy smell! Entertaining to see if you're in Male city.

Fresh fish keep arriving all morning and fish are being sold all the time. The guys cutting up the fish are impressive to watch. They are quick but they don't waste anything. It's a pity that there isn't a Japanese Sashimi place next door. Tuna doesn't get any fresher looking that this.

Maybe cause we got there late in the day.....? All that was left was tubs and tubs of tuna. We did watch a man start from a whole large tuna with a knife and fillet the whole thing, that was pretty interesting. There was not the variety of sea life to make it more than a curious event. Good for... More

This is probably the most interesting place you can go as you can get into the thick of the action. There are fish everywhere and your can see the fishermen unloading their catch from the boats in front.

Went looking for the fish market to purchase bait and was told to get tuna belly. Small fish in baskets were displayed on the floor for sale just outside the market. As you enter the fishy smelly market, you get greeted by many locals and lots of big sized tuna. It is a big surprise for me to see tuna... More
