Many people mix up the president's residence with the square beside the president's jetty. Mulee Aage is the president's residence. Jumhooree Maidhaan (Republic Square) is the square with the big flag-pole. As Mulee Aage is the active residence of the president, it is not open to the public and we can only look at the colourful building through the fence.

Mulee aage is the landmark of the capital Male. A big flag of Maldives is waving there. There is not too much to see just take photos and feed pigeon.

This is not really meant as a tourist-place, but it looks great and you can take a look through the fence and taking photographs that way is also no problem.

This is located in the city's main square. From the jetty / airport channel you will see a big flag waving, and that's where this place is. Not much to see here, just take pictures, feed and play with pigeons, and a walk in the park thing; but this is a top spot for tourists taking pictures while they're in... More

It was exactly opposite of Old Friday Mosque (Hukuru Miskiiy). It was the president residence for long time. I heard that President is not staying here.

This is one of the landmark sights in Male. It is a well kept very nice square with a gigantic flagpole with the Maldivian flag. It is in the centre of the city close to the Islamic centre, the Fish market and the Main Jetty.

Big flag, as the mark of sovereign country, waving in the biggest yard in the capital city. Take 1-3 shots over there!

This really isn't a place that has to be in your To-Do list while visiting Male. It is the President's home so your not allowed to go inside.
