I adored the view of the sea from the mosque. To enter, you must be properly attired. Some people are not permitted here.

Worst ever mosque experience

Awful exposure to Maldivian peoples disrespectful, obnoxious, arrogant n ill mannered behaviour. The older (senior aged) security guard situated downstairs foyer was absolutely rude, lacked people skills. For a so-called Muslim person he was antisocial, racially bias and profiling towards tourists. He did not allow me to offer Maghrib prayers (Tue 12/9) at the mosque, simply refusing entry to prayer halls. What a contemptible act and shameful example of a believer. Upon complaining to other community members n duty staff they dismissed my pleas with their ungodly defiance n defensive responses.
Another middle aged security officer did hear my concerns and did offer to take my case to the Imam n leaders of the mosque. He asked me to wait outside for them to come resolve the situation n correct the unlike Muslim behaviour of the said security guard but nothing eventuated and I left, only to attend King Salman mosque for Ishaa’ prayers without any issues or questioning. I further visited other mosques in Male and had no problems, unlike the so-called Friday Grand Mosque. I have travelled extensively globally and attended numerous mosques, churches, synagogues n temples, etc; and never ever had such a negative impact, especially from a Islamic country like Maldives and it’s so-called perspective on peaceful teachings n services to humanity. May Allaah guide the people of this country n safeguard the honour n dignity of Islamic hospitality, culture, traditions and customs from evil n unrighteous influences

This mosque is built beautifully and located on the beachfront male , near the jetty#9 so its easy to reach .

Beautiful mosque

It's a beautiful mosque, I passed by accidentally and I didn't regret. I also included this place in my vlog about the city. It was very interesting to listen to the muezzin and to the prayer coming from the loudspeaker.

The mosque is situated in the heart of the Male city next to the Sultan park. It's worthy of 30 minutes of your time to visit this grand mosque..

Interesting architecture

All of the important buildings in Male are located very near each other. The mosque has some interesting architecture and carvings. The golden dome is the high light.
