Locals tell me this museum closed about one year ago and they had no idea if it had relocated or just simply disappeared.

It is a hidden gem. If you love history and museum - then it is a must do place. Not only local music instruments and gurus are show-cased here - but all amazing master pieces from across globe are.

I stumbled upon on it on my way back from Merdeka square. I was feeling bit flu-ish. I decided to seek little rest in an air-conditioned oasis. Entrance was free - Air-conditioning was great.

It is a small museum perhaps you need around 1 hour. But displays are interesting and educational. Best part is that the place was deserted and I took as much time I can without noise of crowds.

Music museum is the newly added one and it is free to enter. The building is of heritage type. I recommend to visit if you come to KL.
It is in the Merdeka square next to City Gallery. Music enthusiasts would be very much excited visiting here. Some of my friends of Chinese origin Malaysians were musicians and they enjoyed very much. I like music though not an enthusiast but I enjoyed myself.
The music museum is open from 9 am to 6 pm. except on state holidays.
Music instruments were displayed of different states of Malaysia and of different cultures and races . There is a separate room dedicated to late musician, P. Ramlee.
The music Museum displays some collection of history and information of musical instruments.
During the weekends there is free music performance of busking and traditional Malay Gamelan.

While it is free, it is not worth the time. It is small and there is not much to see, even though we love music and play music instruments. Skip.

The place itself is small and doesn't offer much to see. But entrance is free, it's located near the City Gallery and has air condition. So during a hot day you can enter, walk a little around and cool yourself down.

The music was blaring and entrance was free, so I got in. It shows typical musical instruments of Malaysia. Took some pictures and tour was finished in about 7 minutes.

This ex-natural history museum now transforms into music museum with free admission; let check out after visiting nearby KL city gallery in Merdeka square. The one floor displays many old traditional malay music instruments, ie. Gamelan, big drum , autobiography of renown malay musicians. Take your time here, it's so good.

Worth a quick look as its free, small collection of Malay instruments. Could do with more interactions but its fine for half an hour
