If you are close by this is the best way to start planning your trip as the staff are helpful and they have the best detailed maps that include local sayings and suggested tours. We found out that the prices of tours are 2-3 times cheaper than hotels and you can hire a driver for about 4 hours for a great price! You will also be given the main contact number so that you can call and organise tour until 10pm. We decided to go on the Melaka historical city tour and had a great time. Later, when organizing a driver we were told that there were none available but an hour later we received a call back as they had gone out of their way to find someone to take us around and see the sights!! There is also a chocolate factory next door that finds you with an escort showing you around explaining what they make and letting you taste their wares. Be prepared for the sales pitch at the end though.

This is one place to get all touristy info. Walking distance from the famous Petronas, it holds cultural programs in the evenings. and on select few days, it has real good ones. Free computers to browse or check e-mails.
Courteous staff.

We visited the tourism centre hoping to see if they offer any day trips going to Penang Island (they don't). So we requested their help on how to get there from Kuala Lumpur.
All-in-all, we spent almost four hours trying to book bus tickets and looking at maps and asking about meanings of Malay words (suria = sun, bukit = hill, batu = rock).
The young gentleman who assisted us was incredibly patient and lovely, and even gifted us with some postcards to take home.
It was my second time visiting the tourism centre, but my first time entering the actual building, and it did not disappoint. The employees are ready to offer their help and guidance and I had quite a good time there.
They have an extensive collection of maps and plenty of helpful advice and recommendations on what to do around town.
I would definitely recommend coming to check the place out even if you have your whole trip already planned out.
Plus, they have a cocoa boutique and you can purchase tickets for the hop-on hop-off bus there.

For sure this place is not for tourist. Unfriendly, no help at all, send you from here to there all over the plce. Don't bother to go there. If you want to buy the hop-on-hop-off ticket, wait for the bus and buy it from the driver! The tour guides are all nice and knowledgeaable.

The tourist information complex is situated very close to the twin towers in KL.
It is a great place to start planning your trip as they have alot of free maps and the workers there can offer you advice or information regarding events and tourist attractions.
There is a free internet service wich you can use for 30 minutes at a time as well as great air conditioning to get a bit of relief from the heat.
They have regular events there, for example a fantastic Cultural dance show.

I went there at the weekend and I was glad that I did. The staff are very helpful and the centre itself is very nice. It seems to be the only place where you can get leaflets on attractions and a decent map of the city. They booked a tour for me and gave me a flower and thanked me for visiting Malaysia. They have culture shows on which I did not go to but will in the future.

The tourism centre has some displays, a little coffee shop and shady gardens. But the best thing of all is loads of free maps for all the different states of Malaysia. A must visit to plan your journey out to the rest of the countryside. Also well produced booklets of things to do in different states. Walking distance from PETRONAS towers

The Malaysia Tourism Centre is a short walk from the Petronas Twin Towers. I happened to see this on my way to the the Bukit Nanas. I stopped for a while to take some photos and see what brochures are available.

Hi!
Thanks to the question by Ganchi M I now know about something called a KL Pass..! :D
I would also like to know your views on the pass, would you suggest buying the KL pass, is it worth it? Or should I just buy the Hop on Hop off bus ticket? What would you recommend?
Thanks,
Rishabh
