The planetarium was very educational and functional. It doesn't just show the basics of astronomy and the early tools used by scientists to discover the skies, it also tells about the history of Malaysia putting itself and an astronaut in space, as a sign of progress. Kids can also feel an anti-gravity room. Those are by the way seen for... More

Very much aimed at children. The movie was about 20 minutes long and quite boring for adults. For £4 you could see the latest Hollywood movie at a local cinema instead. I would recommend skipping the movie and just making the most of the free entry to the rest of the museum and the air con.

We got there and the timed events and time between our visit did not fit in as the time of event had either passed or too long to wait. so we did not see everything. Bits we saw were in a foreign language and did not interest me much. Steep climb to the entrance. Might be a few interesting bits... More

The Planetarium is nestled in the greeneries of Lake garden, on top of a small hill. Entrance is free and it costs an extra RM6 (adult)/ RM4 (child) for a 25-minute movie in the theatre. We were greeted by a Space Pod ride right after the entrance. It is a motion ride which simulates the ride in space ship. It... More

The National Planetarium is conveniently located in Kualumpur’s Lake Gardens & it sits on a small hill between the famous KL Bird Park & National Museum. It is dedicated to all things related to science & astronomy. It’s really a fun & educational place for kids to learn about the Planet & Universe. The main entrance leads into a series... More

2 hours flew by at the Planetarium. Very well maintained ( renovated) with some really nice things to fuel kids' curiosity. There's a beautiful glass ball that shows you the specificities of the planets just by pressing on a planet name on the console. Much easier for a kid to remember how Mercury has a dust storm or Jupiter has... More

The National Planetarium is one of the many lesser known attractions in Kuala Lumpur. Our youngest wants to be an astronaut (at the moment) so when we heard it in the news that entrance is free till October, we made plans to visit. Overall it is a great way to spend 1-2 hours with young children, especially when they are... More

The last time I visited Planetarium was when I was very little like at the age of 6 or 7 years old and I remember being so amazed with all the exhibition and the 3D movie about planets. After 21 years...I visited again with my friends and I still feel amazed with this place. Definitely a lot of new things... More

For someone with a child mad on space this place is great. Probably a 2 hour visit which included a show. On the hop on hop off bus tour so easy to get to. It's not massive but a good place in air cond. to look through a telescope was a nice touch as well

Q: Where do you site a Planetarium and Observatory? A: On the top of a hill of course!! The Planetarium and Observatory aren't on the KL map I was supplied so was surprised to find it quite literally behind the National Museum, but up over a footbridge and err, up the hill, quite a bit up the hill a bit...
