- Blue HeelerBrisbane, Australia722 contributionsUnfortunately, a bit of a letdown.Unlike the bird park, which we visited after this venue, this venue has seen better days. It is in need of a major upgrade and/or update, particularly with the netting that covers the area. It is only a small venue and it was nice to see the various species of butterflies, but I do not think it was worth the entrance fee, even in a relatively cheaper country like Malaysia.Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 January 2023
- FkcnSydney, Australia6 contributionsDisappointing. As other reviews have mentioned, this place is in serious need of renovation, and was a disappointment. 25RM is expensive for what you get, a large, albeit lovely garden, covered with netting. And hardly any butterflies, at least when we were there. The sign at entry stating ‘no refunds’ should perhaps have been a warning.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 February 2023
- Lauren WMelbourne, Australia12 contributionsJust okayThe butterfly section is a bit tired and dated. Lots of butterflies though. The bit I liked was they had lots of taxidermied bugs and butterflies in which was quite cool and interesting. You could also purchase them in the gift shop for a pretty reasonable price tooVisited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 June 2023
- EvelynEnglandUnited Kingdom337 contributionsWorth a visit if in the area. Near to the botanical gardens (free) and bird park (high cost).Small park with lots of butterflies. Best to go in the morning but not when raining as it is open with only net above. The pathways look slippery and it is certainly not suitable for disabled people with slopes and steps. Butterflies do land on you but it was upsetting to see people poking the butterflies. Look but don't touch. Interesting exhibition of insects (alive and preserved) in a separate part. Nice gift shop. Worth a visit. 30RM cash only each.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 September 2023

Well maintained, great experience, many butterflies under a green roof of trees and other green, well worth it! At the end they have indoor section with many insects as well.

Despite the last 2 reviews we found the experience very pleasant. Yes there is netting above - how else to keep the butterflies in? It is not run down - it is a mature environment with very enjoyable meandering pathways (you may lose track of where you've been, but that's not a bad thing). Plenty of places to stand above the paths to take pics over the butterflies and lots of feeding stations which were hibiscus sprayed with honey. Several trees covered in butterflies. Plenty of varieties and places to rest after taking lots of pics!
As for the comment about dead butterflies - they don't last forever! and it's easy to step on them when they are taking a drink on wet slabs...
Only negative comment - very hot so I recommend an early in the day visit

Not exactly what we had expected: The park is old and not well maintained, needs refurbishment. Butterflys are all nearly the same.
We cannot really recommend.

You can walk through it in 5 mins or 1 hr. Most of the butterflies were up high. Be prepared to see some dead ones also. We walked from our accomodation at Pacific Express Hotel Central Market KL. It took us about half an hr. You can also get there if you use jump on jump off bus. There are also three different free bus routes around KL that were fantastic.
