The National Monument is the worlds tallest bronze sculpture - commemorating Malaysia's struggles for freedom during the wars. Great views of the city too.

An important monument concerning the history of Malaysia. Surely worth a visit when in KL. It's close to the botanical garden so you walk from one to the other. You will find some benches here and shade so you can have a rest and a look at the monument.

The whole area is impressive especially the layout but the figures of the men in the monument do not look Malay but appear American or Australian in their physiques. They do not look anatomicallycorrect.

Well worth a visit. In memory of those who gave their lives defending the Country. Can get quite busy as it is a major tourist attraction, but everybody seemed to respect the significance of the site. The architect responsible for the design was Felix de Weldon who was also responsible for the Iwo Jiwa memorial. Make time to walk round... More

It is a great reminder of Malaysia's past. Though not very exciting per se, It's good for taking pics. And it's close to other attractions as well.

We had an amazing opportunity to visit the National Monument. If you have the means to do so, go and have a look and read all the plaques and what everything represents.

Good for photo ops. Well kept and clean in general. However, some cleaning and upkeeping of the monuments would go a long way. Watch the mosquitoes.
