Just another shopping place as elsewhere. If you have extra time you can spend 1 hour here. Nothing special about the place. Our taxi driver brought us here so had to give it a try.

Good selection of trinkets, chotskys, parahenalia, postcards and mass produced handicrafts and "artworks" aimed at the typical package tour visitor. The positives: it is an indoor air conditioned venue with a decent food court an authentic Malaysian decor (it was established as a real central food market in 1888), The negatives: the only people shopping here are fellow tourists buying... We wondered around this wonderful little market (packed with stalls of crafts and local clothing items) for about an hour. The prices seem to be reasonable and the building is quite interesting in a historical way. The place is clean as in most places in KL, so no worries for the westerners. There was a pedestrian street (same length as... More

We went here twice for food and a walk around. Its's a bit like a smaller version of Camden market in London. There's loads of stalls selling souvenirs, arty stuff, jewellery, clothes, t-shirts, scarves, leather goods and local artists selling paintings. We had lunch here so spent about 2+ hours here. It was a great place to chill, eat and... More

Nice place to buy some good Souvenirs at decent prices, there are also many small attractions nearby like KL Museum, China Town, Guan Di Temple, Mariyamman Temple etc.

Good market with many things, good prices, indoor, good if it's raining. Small shops, not to crowdy.

Basically, the central market is the starting point of different activities such as food (don't miss the yusoof & zakhir restaurant), clothes (the chinese market is nearby) and getting around (hop on and off bus tour). But the market hall is nice too and is worth it to go inside to just stroll and buy things for a cheap price.
