We opted for a ride up the Nagasaki Ropeway up to Mt Inasa. The views are amazing, well worth the trip as you can see all of Nagasaki City. The staff are friendly and the cable car runs every 20 mins.

The view is stunning from the top of Mt. Inasa and the commentary on the rope-way gondola is spoken in Japanese, then has an English translation. The staff was very helpful but spoke limited English--just enough to let us know when the gondola left and...More

I am giving this a rating of 4 because of the views. The crowds (bus tours etc.) would have rated a 2 or 3 as it is almost impossible to get your photos if you arrive too late as everyone sticks to the rails and...More

Travel by streetcar to the base of Mount Inasa, then walk to the ropeway and head towards one of the best night views you have ever seen. Beautiful and worthwhile ending your sightseeing trip of Nagasaki. If you have visited the atomic bomb center during...More

My wife and I recently visited this mountain while in Nagasaki. The gondola (called the Ropeway by the locals) provided great views of the hillside surrounding the city. Once on top, we walked to the Mt Inasa observation platform featuring a glass-enclosed, domed lookout. We...More

Actually hiked all the way up - Don't do it, really. It is a loooong hike over many narrow slopes and certainly not a comfortable one. Aside from that, you'll get to see a 360 degrees view of nagasaki. It is pretty cold, so do...More

We travelled to the summit by cable car (highly recommend) just before dusk. There were no lines when we arrived but a large line when we returned (after dark). Recommend going at this time as you get to see the view both in daylight and...More

We caught a cab up to the top of this observatory. What a wonderful view. We had arrived that day on a cruise ship, and we could see the ship docked below, so got some great photos. Worth the drive up.

We came here as it has been described as one of the best rated city views worldwide- and we can only agree with this statement! The short railway journey is already very nice as you get to see the city from above. Don’t hesitate, go...More

This is rated as not only one of the best night views in Japan, but in the world. If you get a chance to get there at dusk and stay awhile. It is amazing how the lights go from the water to the tops of...More

You can drive all the way up to the top of Mt Inasa and there are some parking spaces (about 20 only).

If you can get to Nagasaki Station, there's bus No. 5 right outside it that will take you to like more than halfway up the mountain and you can walk up for like 20 minutes from where you get off the bus; that will be cheaper... More
