Teeped in History Tennoji Temple is one of the finest temples I've ever visited in Japan, at the right time of year you can even scale the inside of the Pagoda for a special view over Tennoji. Accidentally found a flyer for a Jazz concert,...More

An hour well spent near Osaka city museum of fine art. We were surprised by the amount of turtles swimming in the pond. There are lots of monuments as well.

Really interesting to look at! The outer area was free of charge and you could see the outside of the pagoda, but you could pay a small fee to access the inner area and go inside the pagoda. This was well worth a look, partly...More

This is one of the oldest temples in Japan. Although I visited during the 25th flea market, the main temple and the pagoda was still relatively peaceful. The main crowds drawn to the market, were in the market, which is the areas within Shitennoji park,...More

After visiting temples in neighboring Kyoto and other cities in japan (including Tokyo), this temple is just an average one. the nice point about it is that its an active temple and it makes it authentic.

Regretfully didnt give this Temple the respect it is due - visited on the way to the Airport and home - possibly one too many temples after 2 weeks in Japan.

Just your normal temple in Osaka area. I would suggest Nara & Uji (if you are in Kyoto area) which has much better scenic views of the temple & its surrounding. I would give this a miss.

We visited in the late afternoon so some areas were already closed. This also made this attraction quiet and solemn for meditation. Walking distance from our hotel.

An entrance fee is necessary for this temple to see the main hall and the five-storied pagoda. Because they are surrounded by high walls, I was not able to see those buildings appearance from the outside.

There is a fee if you want to enter the temple inner surroundings. But if you remain outside, you don't have to pay.
