I went to Kuromon Market around 10am which some people may consider "late". It was busy mostly with tourists. I have a feeling the locals go there early to buy their seafood supplies. If you make it there, try the local seafood. You can pick and choose what you like and have it cooked for you. Most stalls have that... More

Another tourist market with shops selling seafood being most popular. It is advisable to go in the late morning to early afternoon, where food will be fresh and aplenty. While we managed to get some sashimi and grilled shellfish at 4pm at Sanpei (it closes at 6pm), selections were obviously limited. Some shops were already preparing to close for the... More

Nothing great with this place. I was disappointed when I visited the place. Tried several food that were sold but the taste is not something worth going back. I suggest you visit other areas in Osaka rather than waste your time here.

Went in the late afternoon to take a look. Nothing that great although you can find a good variety of restaurants offering fresh seafood for you to choose and they will cook for you on the spot (the one we tried was of very average taste). The fruits we bought there were very good though.

I went in the late afternoon and were delighted with the amount of fresh seafood. I find the price reasonable and ate on quite a number of stalls and food. You would need to try the seafood, fresh and delicious. I tried the prawn, crabs, and scallops. Superb and definitely recommend you to visit the place.

Its a market. The night markets in Taiwan, Thailand, China, etc... have more to offer. Ironically, most of the customers during my visit were Chinese.

There are many types of food on sale here but it seems BBQ / sashimi seafood is the favorite here. Most of the seafood seems fresh, and when in doubt, just buy from the longest queue. Things to try oysters, sea urchin and king prawn. The price is definitely lower than where I come from, and more fresh. I was... More

We visited in the morning and it's a popular spot! There are loads of amazing food stalls to wander through and great things to try so go when you're hungry and enjoy! Plenty of sushi/sashimi, takoyaki stalls, fruit/veg and many more.

The food here is highly overpriced. For example, you can find oysters being sold raw for ¥850, whereas in Nishiki market you can find 10 oysters for ¥600 raw as well. It would be a much wiser choice to take the JR to Kyoto to eat at Nishiki market instead. If you do decide to come here, you can try... More

This was the fifth time we visited the market over the last 15 years. Gradually we found the market was gearing toward tourist business. Most of the seafood stores opened space for eating in as well as buying ready to eat packages of sushi, sashimi, Oden and even cooked in front of you Japanese Wagyu beef.
