This was the great kid musuem ever. There are ao many activities for toddlers to junior high school. My 3-year old son ran and played all day without stopping for a minute for 2 and a half hours.
This is a kind of combiniation of science and national musuem and playground together.
Language barrier is not a big deal for enjoying this place.
But, there is no restaurant or shop to buy something to eat. You should have a lunch before coming here, or bring your lunch here.
The one day ticket is 1400 yen for adult, 800 yen for high school and 500 yen for kid more than 3 years old.
This is millions recommended!

When we were planning our trip to Osaka, Kids' Plaza Osaka was a place which we wanted to get a look at and which we wanted our 6 year old to visit. It is situated in an office building with the Kids' Plaza Osaka taking up three floors. When you've bought your ticket, you can go out and come back in as many times as you like during the course of the day. Just be mindful that the place closes down at 4.30 PM.
Kids' Plaza Osaka describes itself as a museum though perhaps an educational playground is more like it. It encourages interests in science with displays that double as an experiment. A skeleton display encourages the child to place the bones in the proper location while another display, with the assistance of an attendant, places a child in the middle of a bubble. Cultural awareness is also encouraged with musical instruments from various other countries being put on display.
It's a great place that mixes education and play. Worth a visit.

We brought our young toddler here and he had a blast! While there were certain activities he could not participate in due to age and height restrictions, there were so many other activities for him. He especially enjoyed the bubble area (bring spare clothes as they may get wet). We saw many older kids enjoying themselves too. It's very well maintained and clean. Definitely a must visit if you have kids.
Tip: if you're planning to spend a couple of hours, go in the afternoon. We arrived around 2:30pm and was pleased to find out the tickets were discounted.

Absolutely loved this place the first time we came. 5 years later, kids are 7, 11 and 13 and we realised they’re too old for it. Geared more at 10 and under. They did love the huge bubbles that they could stand in.

We were so glad to have visited this place.
We were hesitant to visit as we didn't exactly know what to expect and there aren't a lot of information online about this place. But since it was pretty near our hotel, we decided to give it a shot and were very glad we did.
Kids Plaza Osaka is a indoor playground and science museum combined in one. There are lots to do for kids under 12 though I think the older kids will still have fun in some areas too.
On Level 5, there is a mock-up TV studio where you can pretend to be a newscaster and mucking around in front of the blue screen. There is also a science area and a little around-the-world area with different percussion instruments for the kids to play on. A mock-up train station is also available for kids to learn hot to buy their tickets to take the subway.
On Level 4, there is a mock-up supermarket where kids can shop and scan heir goods at the cashier. There is also a salon, a post office, a noodle stall where kids can play pretend. There is also an area for small kids to play the toys and train sets.
On Level 3 is the computer and craft area. We did not spend too much time here.
In the middle is a playground with a slide and some climbing structure which links up all 3 floors.
We spent a total of 5 hours here. My kids just couldn't get enough of this place :)

It's just above Ogimachi subway station but if u r coming from Shin Osaka, It would be easier and faster to take JR line to Temma station. My 7 and 12 year old enjoyed this place very much. they have many activities from role playing in supermarket as cashier to food stall seller and postman. kids also get to try out a wheelchair!
please note there are only 2 timings tor the baking/cooking class at 10.30 and 2.30pm (if I'm not wrong). and the science experiment class is about once every hour. there are many activities that I had not experienced in my home country and they could try out here eg cartoon animation drawing, big human bubble etc... even my hubby and I learned something. it's fun for the family with kids. :) remember to use your Yokoso or one-day/tourist passes for adult ticket discount.

It’s a great indoor playground. Probably better for kids older than 3 but we enjoyed it with our toddler anyway.
There are school groups from 10am to 2pm. The place gets very crowded. Would recommend coming after 2pm when the space clears out significantly.
Tip: kids under 3 enters free!

It is actually an educational and playful science museum. It includes science, music, language, building blocks, culture, career role play, nature, indoor playroom... It is suitable for wide range of kids of different ages and character. You can spend a whole day on it. It is very close to the train station (Ogimachi). Remember three things: it is closed on Monday; bring food (no restaurant inside except free dining area; you can re-entry at the same date (have food at ground floor cafe or outside).

Interesting place for kids. Main play area is level 4 (base of the tower) and 5 (science area, bubble play, wheel chair experience and cultural activities).
Level 3 is n the contrary, boring. There is only a computer room and something else that is equally boring. The so called place for cooking lesson is on level 4 and I do not think it is caters for cooking now. Approached the room at the stated time thinking it was for cooking lesson but was told no more cooking classes and kids ended up picking up beans with chopsticks.
Very good place to space out for parents. Before u do that, please cover level 5 with kids and be prepared to explain the "who what where when why" questions. Kids will not want to leave under 2 hours. So please come prepared with all your androids and tablets.
No cafe inside. Can buy your own food and bring it in. Food options available near the JR-Tenma station.
Direction: 2 ways to get there. Either by subway sakaisuji line to ogimachi station or by JR loop line. Took the latter. Board at platform 2, 1 stop to Tenma station. Take to the left of the information centre. Walk straight. Turn left at the main road and cross the road at the first crossing on your right. The building you are at now, houses the kids plaza.

Kids plaza is a fun and educational experience for kids. We went on a Tuesday and it was relatively quiet. The activities all provided a useful lesson for science.
It would have been helpful with more English instructions. The place is not too big, but it's easy to spend 2 hours there.

Hi, are there lockers or storage facilities available for luggage?
Written 5 October 2024
Hi, how to book the tickets online? The English website doesn’t show booking options
Written 4 February 2023
Upon reaching the building, enter it and turn left and you will see a main counter. You can buy the entry tickets there directly. We didn’t go online to purchase the tickets.
Hope this answers. Have fun!

Hi, we would love to go to this museum, but we can't speak or read Japanese: is it worth us still going?
Written 12 January 2020
If you have children, it’s definitely worth a visit. We speak no Japanese but had a wonderful time. Lots of interactive things to do. Our daughter even made a friend even though they couldn’t communicate. The only down side is that there isn’t a cafe on site.

Hi, what age range would you recommend for thus place?
Written 23 October 2019
4 years onwards is enjoyable
Written 9 November 2019
I have read one comment that "Not sure if it’s because this place is understaffed but unlike other popular attractions where their facilities and workshops are ongoing all the time due to crowds, kids plaza’s kitchen with cooking classes is only open for two days a week and the Creative, computer and aqua classes have hours where they are closed for lunch and kids come back later." , wouldlikento check with you the timing of the activities, as I am worrying that mentioned above is not open everyday and whole day of operating hours.
Written 12 October 2019
I am not very sure of those classes as they are likely to be conducted in Japanese so my kids will not be able to understand and will be bored very soon. But there are a lot of things for kids to enjoy inside there, so even without the classes, it is still worth a visit.

Hi, just wondering how big is the locker. Does it fit a large luggage? Thinking to stop by before going to Nagoya.

Would love to know what is the goose that is all over the plaza and building? Does it have a name? My son loved it so much but unfortunately I couldn’t get one of the little toys of it before we left.
Written 24 May 2019
Haha, yeah it's very cute, but sorry I also don't know its name.

Hi my nephew is only 2 years old ..wonder if he is too young to enjoy this place?
Written 11 April 2019
Yeah I think so too. There is a special area for small babies, but that is the only thing that he can enjoy. The rest are all beyond her age level, so it's a bit wasteful to go there.
