    Old school Osaka
This place has a more old school feel to it unlike Dotonbori area. I think coming late evening or nite may be more impressive with neon lights. We found a famous kushikatsu stall (Yaekatsu) by chance. This is where they deep fried a variety of pork, beef, seafood to egg and vegetables in front of you.

A good place to visit and dine
This is a busy place in the evening with lots of restaurants and cafes. There’s a huge cosmetic shop. Place is colourful and lighted up at night. The tower is also lighted and makes the whole place very interesting. There are some games shops for the young. Recommend to visit in the evening.

A New World with Variety of Taste
Tons of food to try. If you are picky bout the table charge then you might be picky on places to eat. But other than that, you can try all the stores there. From Takoyaki to Doteyaki and more! A fresh feel to food choices if you want to try other places than Dotonburi

    Fun retro district in Osaka
A nice area in Osaka with a retro atmosphere. There are many restaurants in this district. It won't take you long to figure out that the specialty here is kushikatsu, as that's what most restaurants sell here. It's nice to walk around here and look at the crazy restaurant signs in an area less crowded than Dotonbori.

    You have to go
We saw on You Tube to have lunch at the Jan Jan Yokocho near here and then to walk through this area to Den Den town back to Nanba. We only went during the day, but would have loved to have seen it at night, but alas we only had 1 more night in Osaka and couldn't get back. Also would have loved to try the local food on a skewer which is cheap to eat. We didn't get to the tower, but if we did it again, I would have bought the tickets, had lunch, then gone back - it sounds like fun and is included as part of the Osaka pass I believe. It is only a short street, but unique and has to be seen to be believed, even just for a wander.

So much going on in this area, just fun to wander the streets and take in the atmosphere. So many different things you can indulge in. We thoroughly enjoyed just wandering around sand taking it in.

Without doubt the least favorite place we visited in Japan so far. Didn't get a retro feel at all, more like a slightly uncomfortable feel. We ate in a restaurant called Kushiemon, while the food was OK it was very much on the small side. However, it's the first time we felt unwelcome in any place in Japan. Staff more than bordering on unfriendly. Such a contrast to every other place we visited where staff are so friendly and respectful to customers. We went into another shop(drug store) and staff not much better. It just gave us such a bad feeling that we ended up getting out the place as quickly as possible.

Nothing exciting at all. Very old touristy area. Sounded like a very fun place to visit on paper but quite disappointed

If you have kids go, otherwise skip it. And recommend going when it’s dark so you can see the lights.

Went along thinking it might be kinda similar to Dotonbori ,how wrong we were . Found the place to be a bit like Blackpool , with firing ranges , arcades etc .
Added to that it did not have a good feel at all .
Disappointed , stick to Dotonbori or even Blackpool !
