Entrance is on the main road not from park on the river. Free entry and some good coins and history to see. No English translation of exhibits and some items cannot be photographed

Solid exhibits but no English descriptions at all. The audio guide is free and better than average for Japan (American ish accented female voice, slightly conversational delivery but slow speaking and hung up on the obvious/ formalities: stuff like “chapter 7. Industrializing coin production. In 17xx somebody was hired from Ireland to industrialize coin minting” .).

Get the free audio guide or learn Japanese very quickly. Or skip it.

Japan is one of the artistic countries. The architectural remains from Tokyo to Osaka show Japanese style. The local aspect focuses on beautiful appearance. The dazzling gold and differences also bring out unique urban architecture. More regular and prosperous at the other end of Japan. The unique cuisine of Tokyo and Japan is very attractive to unforgettable memories. Personal opinions are for reference only Starchan

Was at the Mint Museum to see the cherry blossoms. When I was in Osaka the flowers were off peak already but there were a few still blooming trees at the Mint Museum.

As a photo indicate, the Mint Museum is very close to the park where cherry blossoms blooms. Hence, I recommend this place as a checkpoint when you drop by the park.

The Mint Museum itself is okay, perhaps if you are a coin collector you'd be interested.

We felt lucky to be in Osaka during the one week of the year when the Mint Museum cherry blossom viewing garden is open to the public.

It seems that the entire population of Japan felt the same and needed to see these blossoms on the same Friday as we did.  While the trees were lovely and beautiful (although there were lots of petals on the ground already) the uninterrupted blaring announcements in at least 3 languages about the rules of the garden, the presence of guards with bull horns, and the general overcrowding and herding of people made the total experience unpleasant.

The crowds were truly awful and the logistics were terrible. It didn’t help that the loop bus put us down at the exit, requiring an interminable trek along the entire length of the food stalls, exposed all the while to the loudspeakers, to reach the entrance to the cherry garden path.. By the time we started, we had been benumbed to a mindless, shuffling state, not unlike the marching armies of workers in Metropolis – hardly a fit mindset to appreciate sakura. Then, once you are in the crowds and marching along the path there is no exit - you must keep going to the end. (Be sure to use the toilets at the beginning of the circuit.)

Although there were very interesting cherry trees to be seen, it was overall the worst cherry blossom viewing experience we have ever had.

Best part is, it costs you nothing!!
For those history buffs you’ll love this, it was a great setting next to the river. The staff were friendly and had good English.
