    Umeda Building an amazing experience
The Umeda building has two towers connected by a floating observatory located in the financial district. Admission to the observatory costs about $10. However, even if you don't want to spend, take the elevator to the 40th floor and cross two spectacular staircases leading to the observatory for free. There is a souvenir shop there. The ticket booth to go up is on the following floor.

The design and escalator. Pretty unique!
The architectural design of the building is stunning. Best viewed from afar. I came from Umeda Metro. The Building isn't clearly signposted (until you get nearer) as Umeda Metro Station is huge. Look at the website for Umeda Sky Building and follow the directions from there. About 10 minutes or less on foot from Umeda Metro or there are other transport options as well. The Building houses many things including a Cine Libre. You can access part of the Observatory for free but pay the fee which is pretty reasonable at 1,500 Japanese Yen (June, 2023). The KUCHU TEIEN OBSERVATORY, Rooftop and Sky Walk were great. To reach the top, you will use an elevator, escalator and stairs. All quick and easy to navigate. Staff are friendly and pleasant and will guide you. Loved the escalator! Very cool. The 'museum' is interesting and you can learn more about the design of the building amongst other things. There is a cafe where you can buy snacks, drinks and other things as well as a shop selling good quality items (although a little pricey). Clean. There are toilets too. When you purchase your ticket as you enter, if you have cash use the automated machines. Otherwise go to the ticket counter if you want to pay with card and the staff will assist with this. I went early afternoon and it was busy. Nice views and weather was good. I wouldn't suggest going on a rainy day as the top part of the Observatory is open and it can be windy. For me, what I liked the most was the design and reaching the top. The escalator was pretty cool. Views were nice but not stunning. Would recommend.

    Amazing views
Extraordinary 360 degree views over Osaka. Fascinating building design with escalators and lifts to take you to the viewing floor. There may be queues for the lifts. Don’t forget the retro dining experience in the basement - there’s a choice of retro restaurants which are good value . So many people miss out

    Great views of Osaka
The building offers wonderful 360 degree views from its viewing platform. It was also lovely that you could view from outside or within an enclosed level. We went just before sunset, which is ideal as you can see the city both in the light and dark, all in one visit. There is a café where you can purchase meals and a range of beverages, so it is easy to sit back and just take in the view for however long you may like.

    Spectacular
Spectacular views from a spectacular building, when you get there take the elevator to the top then take the escalator to second highest level, have a walk around and take in the stunning views of Osaka, walk around, maybe have a drink or something to snack on, then climb the stairs or take the elevator to the top of the building where there’s an outside observation walk with breathtaking views. There is a souvenir shop to browse through with lots of things that may interest you. My favourite part of the exhibition is the information room which not only has descriptions of the building sequence in English, Chinese and Korean but best of all is the short 10-minute video which shows the lifting of the top structure with 4 cranes, the structure weighed 1040 tonnes and took 7 hours to lift into place, this is the first time for this practice to be used, I thoroughly recommend spending the time reading the information and watching the video, when you finish at the top be sure to walk around the beautiful garden oasis, it was fascinating to find a serene place like this in the middle of this huge metropolis, be sure to look for the vivid coloured carp that wait for you with mouth's open hoping for a snack. I hope you enjoy this magnificent structure as much as I did.

    Incredible structure!
This is a must see structure! It was absolutely fascinating to see/read just how it was built. It’s something like 49 floors up (picture a football field, lengthwise and then add to it. That’s how high it is. From most floors you can see the surrounding buildings, which is amazing in and of itself. One floor has a gift gallery and an area to get refreshments. They even showed a machine roasting the coffee beans and then grinding them. Coffee is strong, but delicious. Plenty of other refreshments as well.

    37th Floor View
While you can pay for the outdoor view from the 40th floor we opened to stop at the 37th and save the entrance fee yen. Therefore we can’t comment on the paid view. However our view was well worth the elevator ride. There’s a souvenir shop where you an peek through and see what I think you see from the top. It was an easy walk from the Westin hotel and not much further from the JR station.

Grand view of Osaka and its surroundings
Excellent view of Osaka City and the surrounding areas from the top floor of Umeda Sky Building! The task of processing the many visiting tourists was very effective and quick and with no more than maximum 10 minutes of waiting between the main lobby and the top floor! Although there seem to be a couple of other very tall buildings in Osaka available I had only time for one of them on this occasion. And I think I made a good choice with a grand sunset view from the top floor, particularly towards the river and even the sea beyond...! The general architecture of this building is very interesting, I think.

    What A View!
Umeda Sky Building/Kuchu-Teien Observatory is a renowned landmark building in Osaka recognized amongst the top 20 architectures in the world. The first two towers were initially built and then a center Floating Garden Observatory was hoisted up and tied into the two towers. There is an admission charge. A quick ride up the elevator and then take a long escalator, highest in the world, to the lower enclosed observation deck. You can walk up the stairs or take an elevator to the upper open-air observatory where you can see panoramic 360 degree view of Osaka. The gift shop in the enclosed observation deck sells heart shape engraved love locks that couples can lock them in a designated spot in the upper observatory. We’re told that now you have to buy and order the love lock in advance.

    Amazing observation deck
It is free to enter the building. We use the Osaka Amazing Pass to access the observation deck for free. It is a 20-min walk from Umeda Station. We also went to an art museum which is included in the Amazing Pass. The exhitbition was interesting. There are a restaurants at the basement level. We tried ramen at one of them. It was average.

Architecturally this building is amazing. 170m and 40 floors. There is a shop, cafe and viewing area on the 39th floor and then you walk up another flight to go onto the outside deck. Great view of Osaka despite some fog. We enjoyed both the escalators up and down. There is also a quaint area in the basement with restaurants, all made to look like an old street.

Great views, well priced, easy line up process that didn’t take too long.
Only thing is I wish we were told when buying tickets that the locks had to be pre ordered. We had no idea and then when we arrived we couldn’t order a lock to put on the wall. However view was amazing and definitely worth the trip!

Japan is an indescribable combination of futuristic technology and samurai-like tradition. Umeda Sky Building is a perfect example.

In one moment, you're soaring to the heavens in a lightning-fast elevator and strolling on an advanced skywalk.

The next moment, you can sit and meditate in a peaceful garden behind the building with greenery and beautiful, ancient stones.

Unique design for a building, especially with the glass escalators leading to the observation deck. The building has won various architectural awards. Worth a visit, especially if free with the Osaka Amazing Pass.

This is Osaka’s most well-known landmark. There are two 40 stories towers which are interconnected with glass panels with an escalator. The top of the building has a unique circular ring structure. The ticket to go up to the observatory is ¥1500 which is cheaper than a lot of other observatories in other big cities. While it has nothing really spectacular, this is a place to tick the box that one has been to Osaka.

The view of the Osaka city on the sky walk is amazing. The walk around was safe. The link bridges were another experience, not expected when getting to and from the observatory.
