Tunnel cost- 500¥ is worth it. The rest is free and is nice for walking around. If you are lucky you can watch a religious ceremony inside.

The Temple is located near the Nagano Station and there are shuttle bus from the station to the temple. The temple is very traditional with a beautiful garden. There are many restaurants and souvenior stores around the temple. It is worthy to visit !

Go in the morning, walk around and pray. Understand the culture. It is an amazing temple. and the Temple is surrounded by various type of food (SOBA - Must try) and the Sake (local sake). If you go Nagano, don't miss this place
