This street will take you up to the temple you were looking for. Lots of shops and no one bothers you if you buy or not. If it's raining, it's no less crowded, just watch out for the umbrellas!

Very and I really mean very crowded little shopping street. Nevertheless great entrance to the temple complex itself. If you like a less crowded approach take one entrance road to the south which goes via a cementary.

A "traditional" village crowded with tourists, selling local items/ souvenirs. Very authentic, very Japanese. It always amazes us how beautiful Japanese products are- the attention to details & quality are totally unbelievable. A nice experience that should not missed when in Kyoto.
