Biggest temple we visited while in Kyoto but not the best. Worth a visit and it's an easy stroll from Ginkaku-ji temple along the philospher's path.

One of the most important temples in Kyoto. Impresive gardens, magnificents painted pannels inside, zen (rock) gardens and a viaduct. Great!

This place can get very busy as it's in a main temple complex. The rooms are nice. But, if you only have the budget (or attention span) for one zen temple I would definitely suggest that you go to Eikando instead.
