Worth a visit, the bamboo forest is so nice, downside is there are plenty of other people admiring the same thing. Not really relaxing experience. So would recommend visiting early in the morning, or night to get a little bit more magic out of this...More

A visit to the Bamboo grove / forest in Sagano is worth all the effort. We went in summer and were impressed. I can imagine how much more beautiful it would be in season

Intresting! Nicely maintained! Humongous bamboo plants creating a shaded canopy like walk way. Short walk through, busy.

Too many tourists, but like always in Japan, manicured nature... There was an extremely nice and humble Cafe where we had lunch.

It is touristy place but worth for having a nice walk through the bamboo forest. Along the walk , there are some temples as well as some people selling hand made souvenirs Paintings etc. Recommended.

The bamboo forest is the top attraction here. There is a short path winding through the forest with the bamboos providing shade. They grow really tall and are much bigger than you would expect. As with many similar attractions, you have to expect big crowds...More

This place is easy to find as it's well signed in Japanese and English. The bamboo is truly amazing, I never knew it grew so big and in such vast quantities. Save some time for a delicious ice cream back in town.

There is something about a bamboo forest that is unlike anything else. There's also a famous shrine and a beautiful temple garden close by so you really shouldn't miss this. It's a long way from central Kyoto, but there are two different trains that come...More

With the tourist vying for spots to take selfies and photos. The ambiance was wonderful and just love the tall bamboos towering over the area... If you are lucky, there won't be as many tourists around and you can truly enjoy the place!

Western Kyoto is home to some of the city's best
eccentricities. Kyoto's Saga-Toriimoto Preserved

riverbank, under wooden bridges that beckon nature
lovers to hiking trails and botanical walks. The
